Our New Partnership Program 2022

In 2021 we first announced our Partnership program, and our first partner was Candor Services, since then we have added many new partners to our program, and have build a network of reputable products/services for our customers to choose from.

2022 is going to be an important year for Slashy Hosting, as we’ve spent the last two years pushing the boundaries with new additions to our services, however we now want to showcase this work to customers, so they can use it for what it was designed to do. We have launched the largest partner recruitment program ever at Slashy Hosting today, and to ensure that the recruitment process is as successful as possible, we have re-visited and re-designed our Partnership Requirements.

New Partnership Requirement Changes

Our partnership requirements have been altered to include the following changes:

  • Reduced YouTuber Subscriber requirement from 2,500 to 1,500 Subscribers
  • Reduced Streamer Follower requirement from 3,000 to 2,000
  • Reduced TikTok Follower requirement from 10,000 to 5,000
  • Reduced Discord Community Member requirement from 5,000 to 1,000
  • Reduced requirement to be established for at least 3 months, to at least 2 months.

These partnership requirement changes will allow for many new applications, and create many new opportunities for potential partners in the future. In addition to the outlined changed, we are also changing our review time from 12 months to 3 months, which means that we will re-visit and adjust these every 3 months.

What this change means for you

If you have ever wanted to partner with Slashy Hosting, and join a community of reputable freelancers, content creator and businesses around the world – Now is the time to do it. We are accepting over 90% more applications than usual, and will continue to release new benefits to our partners.

How do I apply

You can apply for the Partnership Program via our Discord Server https://discord.slashy.host, or via our website: https://billing.slashy.host/submitticket.php

If you prefer to email us your proposal, you can contact us via [email protected]

Slashy Hosting: What you don’t see

You probably know by now that there’s a lot that goes into running a company, specifically a Hosting Company. We have spent years tuning our internal tools and procedures to enable us to be as efficient as possible. In this post we will be diving deep into the roots of Slashy Hosting, mentioning our third-party tools used, servers used, custom tools designed specifically for our services.

Software Used

We use a range of software, all of which serves a different purpose within Slashy Hosting.

WHMCS is a market leader when it comes to billing management for hosting companies. Once you place an order with us, the order is provisioned and managed by WHMCS which automates the hosting process. We also use WHMCS for tools such as Support Tickets via our website.

It’s safe to say that we would be nothing if it wasn’t for WHMCS. We have also developed many custom additions to WHMCS such as:

  • The Theme/Checkout process is fully custom developed by us
  • Gift Cards are a completely custom solution for us
  • Push notifications for our support team to receive support ticket responses are custom developed by us
  • And many more…

We use Multicraft for our Minecraft Hosting Control Panel, however we have added a lot of custom additions. In total the number of lines of code that has been added by us likely exceeds 10,000.

There’s a lot that’s unseen with our Minecraft Control Panel such as our Slashy Hosting Control Bot, external API with custom endpoints and our backup nodes which have been built from the ground up with custom scripts to ensure that all servers get backed up daily. There’s simply too much to go into in this Blog post, therefore we will make another one soon explaining our Multicraft Additions.

Virtualizor & cPanel

Virtualizor and cPanel control both the Web Hosting and VPS Hosting side of Slashy Hosting. Whilst there isn’t any customisation on either yet, we are excited to experiment on new features soon

Crisp holds a vital status within Slashy Hosting as it controls our LiveChat, Knowledge Base and Public Status page. Whenever you view one of our Help Articles, contact us via the LiveChat or check if we have scheduled/ongoing server incidents, you are interacting with Crisp.

We make sure of so many pieces of software, it’s impossible to list them all in this post, however some of the more vital parts will be shown below

  • Mailchimp – Handles our newsletter campaigns
  • HetrixTools & DataDog – Handles our internal server monitoring (We are in the process of moving to a custom solution)
  • ClickUp – Handles our Productivity/Task management
  • GitHub/GitLab – Version Control for our custom scripts
  • Adobe XD – Initial designs are created here before we implement changes to our panels
  • Visual Studio Code – Used to develop new features on our panel
  • IFTTT – Automation in the social-media channel in Discord
  • CloudFlare – DNS Management
  • YubiCo/Google Authenticator/SMS Validation for Security

Custom Tools

Slashy Hosting uses many custom scripts/tools to function efficiently. Below you can see some of our favourite

  • Node Resource Logging
    • Checks our available server space to ensure that we have enough stock to offer to customers
  • Discord Support Bot
    • Handles all support requests in the Discord Server
  • Automatic JAR Updater
    • Checks for new JAR builds and deploys them to all nodes
  • Backups
    • Handles daily backups, as well as manual backups.
  • Modpack Deployment
    • Handles the deployment of modpack updates to all nodes
  • Gift Cards
    • The Gift Card product is custom developed by us

Infrastructure is a very sensitive topic to most hosting providers, however we believe in transparency, therefore we will do our best to explain our infrastructure below

Minecraft Hosting Nodes

Our Minecraft Hosting nodes are hosted by OVH/SoYouStart. We also still have a node hosted with our old previous provider Hetzner based in Finland.

VPS Hosting Nodes

Our VPS Hosting nodes are also hosted by OVH/SoYouStart. We use a range of different server types due to them changing their servers offered, as well as a shift in VPS Types offered by us last year

Our Website Nodes (Billing, Main Site, Minecraft Control Panel) are all hosted on servers by OVH.

We also have many other servers that you are probably not aware of. Some of these include

  • Backup Nodes
  • SQL Node for MySQL Database’s offered with Minecraft Hosting
  • Modpack/JAR Distribution Node
  • Proxy Server for internal security
  • Self-hosted GitLab Server
  • Demo Panel
  • And more…

We hope that you enjoyed getting an insight into the infrastructure behind Slashy Hosting, and we hope that you are enjoying hosting with us!

Free Trial & Java 11 Support

Not sure that a Minecraft Server is right for you? Now you don’t need to worry, as we have launched 24 hour free trial servers.

Currently, only Budget Minecraft Server Hosting supports this addition, however we plan to roll it out to Premium Server Hosting later next month, and to VPS/Web Hosting in early 2022.

Our Trial Budget Minecraft Hosting plan includes:

  • Instant Setup
  • Unmetered SSD Storage
  • Unlimited Slots
  • 1GB Memory
  • DDoS Protection
  • 1x MySQL Database
  • FTP File Access
  • Enterprise Hardware
  • 100% Uptime*
  • North America & Europe Location
  • Java 8, 11, 16 and 17 support

You can receive a free trial server via our website: https://slashy.host/minecraft

Java 17 Support

The launch of Minecraft 1.18 is just a few days away, and we have rolled out support for Java 17, which is a requirement for the new version. At this moment in time, we only support Custom JARs as an option for Java 17, however our automated systems will automatically deploy 1.18 on all nodes upon release.

In addition to Java 17, we have also released a stability bug patch with our internal deployment systems, resulting in daily backups being more stable, one-click modpacks working again and new JAR options being accessible within 30 minutes of deployment.

Our uptime is now 100%

Since we opened Slashy Hosting, we have always advertised a great uptime of 99.9%. Today we are announcing a change of our uptime from 99.9% to 100%.

We know what you’re thinking! “How is this possible?”. The answer to that is simple, our Uptime percentage serves as the acceptable amount of uptime a server should go below. If a server breaches the Uptime limit, and the issue is our fault, we will issue SLA (Service Level Agreement) reimbursements for the service.

We are always looking for ways to improve our services, and we believe that challenging ourselves to 100% uptime will hold us accountable for any downtime, of any size.

What does that mean for customers?

This update means that if your service goes offline for any period of time, and the reason for the downtime is not against our Service Level Agreement, we will be responsible and have to reimburse you a percentage of your service recurring cost to compensate for the downtime.

You can claim SLA Credit by opening a Support Ticket via our billing panel: https://billing.slashy.host

Slashy Hosting Black Friday Sale!

It’s that time of year when businesses around the world drop their prices to participate in Black Friday Sales! At Slashy Hosting we have been hard at work preparing for this exact moment, and cannot wait to welcome our brand new customers.

Our Black Friday deals will run from 19th November to the 1st December. We will be offering two deals this year:

Minecraft Control Panel v3.7

Behind the scenes we have been working on brand new features for our Minecraft Control Panel!

New Sidebar Design

Our Sidebar has been completely re-designed from the ground up to follow our new branding and standardised content. Firstly, we removed the old Minecraft Block background image, and replaced it to the Slashy Hosting Purple. We then switched out Font Awesome 5 for Google Material Icons on the Sidebar to provide more accurate looking icons for each sidebar navigation item. Next, we replaced our existing font to a more modern one.

However, the magic doesn’t stop there! We have also taken onboard the countless suggestions about the Sidebar not being mobile responsive, and we can now officially say that our Sidebar looks amazing on every device!

Panel Customisation

A little over a year ago, we brought Dark mode to our Minecraft Control Panel. Whilst Dark Mode looks incredible, and gives our customers choice over their preferred look, it just wasn’t cutting it with us.

Today we are announcing our latest feature to our Minecraft Control Panel: Panel Themes will enable you to change the color of your panel to more than 16 million colours. Some of our favourite colors are above.

To switch your Panel Theme, simply head over to your Profile and select the Color Picker. Once done, save your profile and it should take effect!

Actions Page

Common questions account for over 80% of our support requests. Whilst our Knowledgebase covers almost all of these questions, the tutorial can sometimes be quite long/hard to follow. With our new Actions page we plan to cut down the work required by customers to execute these actions! Simply select your desired action, enter the confirmation word shown and click submit!

Currently we support the following functionality:

  • Factory Reset Minecraft Server
  • Delete all plugins
  • Reset Overworld
  • Reset The Nether
  • Reset The End
  • Take a MySQL Database Backup

If you have a suggestion of a feature that you would like to see, let us know via our Discord Server.

Additional Changes

  • We’ve added an announcement bar which will show on your Server View Page.
  • We’ve reworded the label “Name” to “Username/Email” on the login screen
  • We’ve patched many bugs with Dark Mode
  • All updates released today have been added to our Demo Panel
  • We’ve updated our Roadmap

Welcome to the Slashy Hosting Blog

Welcome to the brand new Slashy Hosting Blog! We have many plans for this new platform that we would love to share with you.

At Slashy Hosting, we believe that communication is key when it comes to customer satisfaction. As we continue to expand and grow, we began to realise that we needed a more centralised platform to communicate important announcements, and platform updates with our customers. In addition to this, we wanted to build a platform that would facilitate more than just release notes, but to also support written guides such as how to build and expand a Minecraft Server with ease.

If you have a suggestion for what you would like to see on our Blog, please let us know via our Discord Server using the -suggest command. You can find some purposes of our new Blog below.

Additions to our Services

We are constantly improving our services on a weekly basis, and we want to ensure that customers are aware of such changes to ensure that they can utilise them to their full potential.

Previously, we depended on WHMCS’ Announcement Tool for important announcements, however from today that will all change! Our Blog has a modern UI that enables us to add elements that were not previously supported. As a result of this, we can ensure that additions to our services are explained clearly, using media such as images to showcase such changes.

Once upon a time, we released promotions on a week-by-week basis. Due to increased focus on important updates within Slashy Hosting, we temporarily stopped these promotions. We would love to welcome back these Promotions within our blog posts to ensure that our customers can get the best deals possible with their services!

Server Creation Guides

Not many people know the full history behind Slashy Hosting, therefore we will give some backstory on this one.

Slashy Hosting was founded in 2018, however our roots go back further to 2016 when our first major venture was started. Before Slashy Hosting, our team formed a service team called JenkinsDesigns which provided Minecraft-related services to users around the world. JenkinsDesigns very quickly became the #1 choice for any service within the Minecraft Industry due to being one of the only teams to combine all aspects of a Minecraft Server into a one-stop shop.

  • Minecraft Server Store/Forum Development
  • Custom Minecraft Plugin Development
  • Custom Minecraft Setups
  • Custom Minecraft Builds
  • Custom Minecraft Artwork
  • Many more…

After becoming very successful, we branched out further and formed Slashy which would later acquire many more service teams and combine them into one. We also had a Forum and Discord Community for promoting servers and services!

Before JenkinsDesigns, our team also managed many Minecraft Servers independently dating back as far as 2014.

Getting back to the point, we want to collectively share our experience with our customers to ensure that they can maximise growth with their Minecraft Server. Slashy Hosting loves seeing customers grow their communities, and we are extremely excited when customers choose us to assist them with their journey!

With that being said, we hope you enjoy what’s coming with our Blog, and we would love to hear your feedback!
